Apprentice Lands Full Time Recruitment Role-

Jamie Fearson

Jamie has recently completed his Level 2 Business Admin Apprenticeship whilst working at Orbital Recruitment. He joined Orbital in June 2017 and quickly established himself as a valuable member of the team.

Orbital Recruitment does pay into the 'Apprenticeship Levy' and is clearly benefiting from the scheme. By investing in the training of Jamie and his apprenticeship, they have been able to mould Jamie into an individual who will benefit the company now and in the future.

Jamie commented on how much the apprenticeship has benefited him, "The Apprenticeship has helped me gain many skills needed to complete and improve at the job that I do. Aspects such as my confidence, organisation and telephone manner have all improved.

I chose an Apprenticeship because I knew it could teach me the main aspects of the role whilst also working with Orbital, which would improve my knowledge of the Recruitment sector.

DBC has helped me by providing me with a very helpful mentor, who has guided me through my apprenticeship, teaching me every aspect of my role to the highest standard possible. I am definitely looking to complete my Level 3 Business Admin in the future".

Breaking Down The Age Barrier-

Iian WIlson

"Age can be a barrier when it comes to using technology and finding employment. I only had a basic experience and knowledge of IT systems. Joining the Microsoft Package course at DBC has helped me to understand how it all works and therefore given me greater opportunities.

Not only has the course given me more confidence when it comes to IT, but it has also opened the opportunity for me to volunteer for the 'Royal British Legion' in an Administrative role so I can gain experience within the line of work. They are also providing me with additional training to progress my skills even further.

Being able to achieve this outcome is all thanks to DBC and staff".

Improved Job Search Skills Lead To Employment

-Jamie Hughes

"Whilst looking for a job, I signed up for the 'Make It:Universal' course at DBC Training. During this time, I was searching through different job sites and applying for jobs that caught my attention. After being invited for an interview, I was eventually offered a job.

DBC has helped me a lot by teaching me interview techniques and other new skills along the way. I would also like to give special thanks to my Tutor and the Job Broker for the support they offered throughout my 2 weeks there.

I enjoyed my time time at DBC, I met a lot of good people and would encourage others in the same position as me to come along and try it for themselves."
