Learner Engagement Team Leader

Overall Job Purpose:

To Line manage and support a team of Learner Engagement Officers to identify potential learners through proactive community and stakeholder engagement, promoting DBC and the services delivered to engage individuals to enrol onto the programmes.


 Key Responsibilities:

  • Line manage and support a team of Learner Engagement Officers ensuring that channels of communication within the company are maintained ensuring the fast flow of information 

  • Motivate and monitor team members to ensure all performance targets are met. 

  • Monitor quality of service received from all stakeholders and implement arrangements for continuous improvement 

  • Monitor performance against contractual and Company targets and support improvement plans to exceed targets. 

  • Creation of learner referrals network to include all local stakeholders 

  • Promotion of DBC services to all relevant stakeholders 

  • Interview all potential learners 

  • Create and maintain learner and stakeholder databases 

  • Maintain regular contact with learners and local stakeholders 

  • Achieve monthly start, placement and progression targets as per delivery profiles 

  • Support learners to secure work experience placements and manage customer attendance on work placements. 

  • Conduct work placement risk assessment 

  • Attendance at all relevant networking meetings 

  • Accurate completion of recruitment paper work as the initial part of the funding administration process 

  • Liaise and communicate with other team members to ensure learner progress 

  • Registering new learners, managing online advertising, and updating the vacancy management system 

  • Development/maintenance of relationship with employers to ensure learner progress 

  • Act as the local Safeguarding Representative, ensure company procedures are adhered to 

  • Any other duties as required by the SMT and line manager

Experience and Skills:

  • Experience within a team leading or management role (desirable) 

  • · Management and motivational skills 

  • Safeguarding Level 2 training (desirable) 

  • Expert communicator both written and verbally 

  • Passionate about people 

  • Sensitive to the needs of learners, young people and vulnerable members of society 

  • Ability to travel around East Midlands 

  • Professional demeanor to represent our client and the national programme in the best light 

  • Self-motivated and able to work without supervision 

  • Resilient and able to seek new business opportunities 

  • Organised and punctual 

  • Able to work as an integral team member 

  • Able to deliver work at a high standard 

  • IOSH (desirable) 

  • IAG Level 3 qualification
