Kickstart is a new £2 billion Government scheme that is creating thousands of Government-funded 6-month job placements to help young people into work and support the UK's economic recovery.
Funding is available for:
100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week
associated employer National Insurance contributions
employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions
£1,500 per job placement for setup costs, support and training.
As an employer, Kickstart will give you access to a large pool of motivated young people, who are ready for an opportunity, at no cost.
DBC has launched a package of support to help businesses of all sizes to access Kickstart. This includes support with on-boarding new starters and on-placement support to help deliver impactful outcomes for your business and young people.
If you’re creating fewer than 30 new job placements, you cannot apply directly. As a Kickstart ‘Gateway’, DBC can act on your behalf and apply for a Kickstart Scheme grant for you.

Kickstart is not an apprenticeship, but participants may move on to an apprenticeship at any time during, or after their job placement. You can find out more about what apprenticeships can offer your business here.
