Engagement Officer

Department: Business Development

Reporting to: Director of Business Growth

Location: East Midlands

Overall Job Purpose:

To liaise with prospective learners and employers to fill vacancies and then complete enrolment paperwork, making sure to maintain a high level of accuracy and be compliant at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and attend employer/learner appointments

  • Liaise with sales and operational teams to update on completed activities

  • Explain the product or service to potential learners and clients and handle inbound client queries

  • Achieving personal and department KPI targets set by the business including completion of necessary paperwork to high standards to ensure compliance with funding body requirements

  • Communicating professionally with all levels of clients to ensure the recruitment process is successful and efficient and ensure vacancies are filled in a timely manner

  • Undertake necessary training to professionally develop and keep abreast with current practices and legislation within the sector

  • Creation of learner referrals network to include all local stakeholders

  • Interview all potential learners and provide constructive feedback to improve employment prospects for the individual

  • Create and maintain learner and stakeholder databases

  • Actively promote DBC Training in the local community through maintaining regular contact with learners and local stakeholders including attendance at all relevant networking meetings

  • Conduct work placement risk assessment

  • Accurate completion of recruitment paper work as the initial part of the funding administration process

  • Liaise and communicate with other team members to ensure learner progress

  • Registering new learners, managing online advertising, and updating the vacancy management system

  • Development/maintenance of relationship with employers to ensure learner progress

Experience and Skills:

  • Ideally come from an apprenticeships/work based learning background

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Computer literate with understanding of using cloud based services (SharePoint etc.)

  • Excellent telephone skills

  • High degree of accuracy in all written work

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise issues to meet expectations

  • Ability to build strong working relationships (internal/external)

  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written

  • Good levels of customer service and professionalism with both learners and clients

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • IAG Level 3

  • Full UK driving license

  • Safeguarding Level 2

  • IOSH Working Safely
